Lindsay's Story | Money and Mental Health
Today’s episode is about MONEY and MENTAL HEALTH. We’ve talked about the wide-spread prevalence of both money and math anxiety, but we’ve never unpacked on how this actually impacts mental health. I am really excited to bring an expert on this topic, an actual FINANCIAL THERAPIST to today’s show, Lindsay Bryan-Podvin to the podcast. She’s a biracial financial therapist, speaker, and author of the book "The Financial Anxiety Solution." Lindsay shares about what it means to be a financial therapist, describes the intersection between mental health and money, and shares about her own financial and mental health struggles. Lindsay also talks about how she was working as a social worker, with a graduate degree in social work and making less money than when she was a server.
A practicing LMSW since 2012, she uses a shame-free approach to help people get their minds and money in balance by focusing on the intersection of money and mental health. She holds a degree in sociology and a Master’s in Social Work with certificates in Financial Social Work and Financial Therapy. Enjoy!
